Taikang Road is one of Shanghai's little gems; everything I love - shopping, art & cafes. Similar in feeling to Xintiandi (the French Concession Quarters) but the shops are closer together and there are many more. Picture little laneways filled with gorgeous shops, fashion boutiques, chic cafes, wine bars, jewellery. It reminded me a little bit of wondering around the souks in Marrakech but more delightful and no hassling. There is an energy/ vibe in Shanghai which is fantastic and seeing their artisans develop their own sense of style.
