Phnom Penh and the Water Festival
My first time in Cambodia and we were very lucky to be in Phnom Penh during the Water Festival. It is a national holiday which lasts about 3 or 4 days. The Festival is marked by boat races; up to 200 boats from provinces all over the country come and race with up to 100 rowers in some. At night, there are fireworks and boats lit up like Vegas Signs and there are so many people.....about 1 million visitors this year. There was a real party atmosphere and it was lots of fun.
