W Taipei

Taipei is a vibrant, friendly and wonderful city to visit. Quite an unexpected surprise! Surrounded by mountains, the city has lots of great districts to discover from the hot springs town of Beitou to the night markets at Shilin to the picturesque town of Danshui. The shopping, food and museums have been a great source of inspiration for me which I'll share some highlights with you this week.

We stayed at the fabulous W Hotel in Taipei - fab design, fantastic service and very easy to get around town as it is above Town Hall. It was also an added bonus that all the top end shopping malls are literally at your doorstep LOL.

Our home for the next 5 days

Great design & attention to detail.
We loved the room door bell, use of patterns, colour and textures.

Lucky Red is everywhere!

Our room, the view of Taipei 101 and the roof of the elevator.

The pool - unfortunately, it wasn't quite hot enough to try it.

  1. A stark contrast between the exotic and luxurious on the one hand - and modern urban scenes on the other. Quite a clash within the images. Fascinating. I think I would be overwhelmed.
